You may or may not have caught my Instagram story where I came to your from my pantry. I mentioned having food storage and a 7 day plan I then multiply to have multiple weeks of storage readily available to me.
Lots of you had questions and wanted to know more. So I posted an episode on my Instagram TV channel about my plan. This is the download of my meal plan.
These are the basics of what I need in my pantry. I have LOTS OF OTHER RANDOM THINGS like flour, sugar, olive oil, seasonings, cake mixes, etc but this list I always keep things stocked for sure. The idea is to always have something available to feed your family. Every situation is different and so this is just a simple guideline to get you thinking of what would be good for your situation.
Let me walk you through a meal… Spaghetti can be made so simple with canned sauce and noodles – both pantry ready. OR you could stock oregano, canned tomatoes, tomato paste-also pantry items- and make your own sauce to go with your noodles. If you have power, you can then use frozen ground beef (we get a cow and freeze it every other year) or turkey. If you don’t, you could use bottled beef or even freeze dried beef. I really like the Augason Farms brand which you can get at Walmart or on Amazon. So this meal leaves me lots of options.
Anytime we use up one of these items, it goes on my Meal Board under Groceries so I can keep it rotated and stocked.
Again, this is just a conversation starter for your family to look at their resources and make a plan that fits your needs. Be sure to watch my IGTV episode where I share other tips and tricks.
