So I was reading this book the other day – GROWING UP BRAVE – and I came across this theory by Albert Bandura that has really stuck with me this last week. He philosophizes that humans should “approach a difficult task as a challenge to be mastered rather than a threat to be avoided”.
I love how this reminds me that sometimes we can become lost in a state of ‘escape’, hiding from anything uncomfortable to be experienced. I’m thinking I am going to take this next month and really come at life head on.
I want to feel brave AND vulnerable.
Because isn’t that what life is about anyway? Not numbing or avoiding the threats, but LIVING and FEELING them.
Add these dates to your CALENDAR to remember to LIVE a little. Be bold and daring. Celebrate this wonderful life we are so fortunate to have.
